Bikini & Brazilian Sugaring
My guess is, if you're here on this page, you're contemplating getting a brazilian or bikini sugaring. But, maybe, like many other first-time clients, are terrified. Because, although the thought of being bare and care free for weeks sounds amazing, you've heard that hair removal is a painful embarrassing process. At Bare And Polished, I strive to make you as comfortable as possible easing your fears and worries.
Is it painful?
So, you've heard that getting a brazilian is the most excruciating pain of your life. That's a bit exaggerated. The first time is undoubtedly uncomfortable--maybe not what you wanted to hear--however IT GETS BETTER! That I promise. Nobody would ever come back if it hurt as bad as the first time, every time. Traditional waxing (hard and soft) I believe to be significantly more painful than sugaring, for a few reasons sugaring is less painful:
- Sugar is not hot, therefore it will not burn your skin, ever
- Sugar does not stick to live skin cells, therefore it is merely exfoliating, not pulling on that top layer of skin or lifting
- Sugar goes against the hair growth and removed in the direction of hair growth, occasionally, the application might be uncomfortable. If it is, just ask your professional to slow down a bit, this will help with the pulling.
Isn't it embarrassing?
Maybe your gynecologist and/significant other has been the only person to see your nether region. So, now you're embarrassed. I'm here to tell you you have nothing to be embarrassed about. In of 8 years of experience, I've seen it all! Everybody's anatomy is perfect just the way it is. Every body is perfect just the way it is. And in all realness, I don't pay any attention to what anybody's vulva looks like. I'm down there determined to remove as much or as little hair as you'd like. I am NOT here to pass judgement or make you feel embarrassed in any way. Let's all embrace body positivity! It's your first time, in front of someone you've never been naked in front of before. That first moment can feel awkward and embarrassing for many. I will do my best to make you feel at ease and comfortable. Hopefully when you leave you'll feel like you've gained a friend, especially with continued visits.
Isn't it expensive?
When comparing to other methods of hair removal, and how often you have to do them (shaving, hair removal cream, depilators), every few days, maybe once a week, it's not that expensive! When comparing to laser, it's very cost effective. Especially considering continuous sugaring sessions lead to permanency in hair reduction.
